Direct Hot Water Cylinder – SUPERCHARGED

 

OSO Supercharged is a ESA (Energy Smart Appliance) which is available now, 3 years in advance of regulations announced by government to mandate electric hot water cylinders to follow flexible domestic energy tariffs. Flexible energy tariffs such as Octopus Agile follow the wholesale price of energy. Wholesale energy costs change every 30 minutes and vary hugely according to the state of demand and supply. On some occasions prices go negative, meaning consumers are paid for using energy and this is expected to increase over time as more renewables come on stream in the UK.

Supercharged is projected to reduce energy costs by 50% by prioritising the cheapest 30 minute energy periods. The product knows what the 30 minutes energy prices will be 24 hours in advance and learns daily water heating demand pattern. The product minimises the cost of energy whilst always having sufficient availability of hot water.
